How to Be Alone and other little thoughts

How to be alone and not be lonely is easy for me. But I think it's harder for other people. I'll give you some tips that make being alone fun.

Get to know yourself better. Experiment! Create. See what you're good at it, and see what you enjoy doing. And sometimes do things you don't enjoy doing just for the fun of it! Try painting with watercolors, drawing with charcoal. Paint landscapes, then try painting shapes. Draw people and then try drawing animals. Try writing with images, writing based off of the sounds you hear and the smells you smell. Write letters to your future self, write to your future husband, write to your best friends, write to your aquaintences, write to people you haven't talked to in awhile. Try baking things. Don't be afraid to create a mess.Try knitting. Don't be afraid to mess up. Try sitting still through a long movie. Try a new book or re-read a favorite book. Discover new music and listen to old favorites and sing a long to their every word. You have time to do this all. Spending time with yourself is sometimes neccesary. You can exercise with yourself. You can attempt to write and create music with yourself. What you're not allowed to do is think badly of yourself. You are not allowed to concentrate on worries. You are here with yourself to have fun. To get to know what you're good at and laugh at the things you're bad at. Thats one of the key things of how to be alone and not be lonely. You have to learn to enjoy being with yourself and how to love yourself.

That's all I got on that topic. :) I thought I'd write it because it seems like a lot of people I know are sad lately. And I could be wrong, but I think some of it has to do with the fact that they are lonely. Because they don't have people to keep them occupied and they don't know how to be with theirself. So thats why I wrote this. I want you to be happy with yourself.  I can't promise it will work, but I can promise you that if you don't try, it won't work. And to be truely happy, you'll need to find it from God. But I do understand that sometimes people get lonely. Which is why I want to help you not be lonely and to have things to do.

Things I love: Hammocks. Tea bags. Lights. Watercolors. Flowers. Tapes and Mixed Cds. Coffee and Pie. Dance. Starry Nights. The trailer for Perks of Being a Wallflower. Emma Watson. The song Some Nights (clean version) and Lullaby by Creed. Fall/Autumn/Winter.

Other thoughts: I'm not the only one who's been anticipating Fall and its chilly weather, beautiful bright crunchy leaves, Pumpkin Spice Lattes and pumpkin everythings, Warm Apple Cider, The Freeing Feeling of Football Games and playing football, Boots, Sweaters, Happy Feelings, The way your nose gets a bit red and cold, Pumpkin Seeds, Charlie Brown, Late Night Fires, The way everyone seems a bit happier and are more willing to give away free smiles. The blogger world and facebook world all seems to want it to come. And so do I. But one other thing I like is the anticipation of Fall. Because if we didn't anticipate it so much, it'd come and go easier and quicker. If that makes sense? We wouldn't treasure it as much because we wouldn't have looked forward to it. Seasons go quickly sometimes. So anticipating Fall is part of what makes Fall so great in my opinion.

Sidenote: I'm already thinking of Christmas present ideas and I'm getting excited. I love giving gifts.

  1. I adore this post. Mainly because I agreed on every note.
being alone and not begin lonely comes natural to me. i'm not exactly a loner, but being 75% introvert {according to the briggs and meyers personality test} being alone is a good thing to do! I love it, and i'd do it even if i didn't know i was introverted ;)

i specially adore that hammock picture. <3

  2. write to your future self? interesting.

I always argue with myself; it's fun 'cause I always win the argument and am not interrupted.

Oh, and yes, looking forward to Autumn gives it a particular charm, is truly does. And it makes its days seem to last as long as possible. ^_^
