Poetry in Fingertips

I've been feeling inspired lately.
So, I'm going to share you some of my poetry and then I'll show you some poems I found that were breathtaking.
Here goes nothing.
Or something.

Snow melted pages
                                  stuck to the seams.

Just like black is to white
                   and smells like ink.

Find passion in the evergrowing tree
blink away the goodbyes hidden in me.

blink away the goodbyes hidden in
ME

---

Struggling to find yourself in the hands
of unforgiving time.
Trying to find reason
when there is no reason or rhyme.

Staring behind walls of g r a n i t e ,
Staring behind walls of e m b e r s ,

running away January,
all the way to December.

Hands in Hands in Hands they link...
Dripping remnants of melting ink.

Chasing time until it stops,
Such is life in between the hands of a clock.

---

"The first day after a death, the new absence
Is always the same; we should be careful

Of each other, we should be kind
While there is still time."

-- Philip Larkin

"I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind. "

-- Pablo Neruda

"My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong."

--W.H.Auden

"We, too, can divide ourselves, it's true.
But only into flesh and a broken whisper.
Into flesh and poetry."

                                                    --Wislawa Szymborska

"then the voice in my head saidWHETHER YOU LOVE WHAT YOU LOVE

OR LIVE IN DIVIDED CEASELESS
REVOLT AGAINST IT

WHAT YOU LOVE IS YOUR FATE"

--Frank Bidart

"We are poor passing facts..."

-- Robert Lowell

"Your absence has gone through me
Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color. "

-- W.S Merwin

"The world of dew
is the world of dew.
And yet, and yet—"

-- Issa

"We all have reasons
for moving. I move
to keep things whole."

--Mark Strand

"She was the sentence the cancer spoke at last,Its blurred grammar finally clarified."

-- "At the Hospital" by David Ferry

These are all remarkable writings that have inspired me and moved me in ways I cannot explain.
May my love for poetry never die out.
When I'm at loss for words,
Poetry finds them for me.
When I cannot fathom my thoughts or emotions,
Poetry puts them to good use.
The art of poetry,
I hope you appreciate it.

  4. bloglovin' is a website where you can add your blog, and follow others. it's kind of like seeing all their new posts in one spot, i guess like your dashboard in blogger. but i've switched to wordpress, so i don't have that anymore and that's why i use bloglovin' :)

  6. "blink away the goodbyes hidden in me" - I looooove this line. Very beautiful, Soph. That hits a place inside me.

And, yeah... I echo your sentiments about poetry. I have only been discovering that love this past year or so. All of these you posted were incredibly beautiful. But that line right up there from YOU was my favorite, I think :)
