They're taking the Hobbits... to Isengard!

I apologize because usually I have depthy, meaningful posts, but today I'm fangirling.
The Hobbit is coming out tomorow, and even though im not seeing it tomorow and...
You see, I've been waiting for this movie to come out ever since I was a 13 yr old girl.
I have a newspaper cliping from when they first discussed making a film out of it.
I'm 18 now, and more than stoked for this movie.
So, in honor if it's coming out,
I'm answering Hobbit questions that I orginally found here:

I hope you enjoy and I hope you are as pumped as I am. :)

1.) How did you first hear about LOTR and the Hobbit?

I first heard about the Hobbit when I was 12 and had to read the Hobbit as a school assignment. I had never heard of it before then, but I fell in love when I read the book and I told my Daddy about it. That's when he told me it was a prequel to a series called Lord of the Rings and he said if I wanted to watch them that he'd watch them with me. And thats when I was introduced to Lord of the Rings. After watching and loving the movies equally as much, my friend let me borrow the book series. I've been a fan of them all ever since. I even had written (and got back!) a fanletter to Elijah Wood. He sent me an autograph of himself.

2.) How many times have you read LOTR/The Hobbit? Or have you yet to read it at all?

This isn't usually the case for me... so don't get upset, but I actually haven't read the books more than once or twice. I saw the movies over and over again, but sometimes the books get a little lengthy. Plus, I always like to keep reading new books and there is a library 5 minutes from my house where as renting movies actually cost something ( granted, its only a buck but still.) and it's a bit more than 5 minutes away. So when I want to watch a movie, its usually one we have. Whereas with books, I can keep widening my catagory of books that I have read by going to the library.

3.) Would you name your child as a character after it?
Maybe. But it wouldn't be after them really. I just like the name Sam, so I miight name one of my kids Sam. However, if I got a new dog... I might name him Frodo, Merry, Pippin, or Gandalf.

4. What are your thoughts on Tom Bombadil? Do you think he should have been in the movie?

I was 12 (almost 13) when I read the Hobbit, and roughly 14 when I read Lord of the Rings. I know this is bad, but I honestly don't remember him that well.

5. Do you have a favorite piece of poetry from any of Tolkien's books?

All that is gold does not glitter
,Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
(I know Treksie used this as hers too, but it's also my favorite. It'

6. Have you read any of Tolkien's work besides LOTR and/or The Hobbit?

HE HAS OTHER BOOKS OUT THERE!? How did I not know this!? D:
7. Can you write in Tengwar?
No. But when I was younger, I went back and watched all the times the Elfs spoke and the english translation on the bottom and tried to teach myself how to say the english phrases in Elf. I also printed off an Elf guidebook from the internet and used that. And I also copied down the maps and drawings from within the book. I was a nerd.
8. Were you at all disappointed that Prince Imrahil wasn't in the movie?
Sorry Prince, but you have been forgotten too.
9. What would happen if you and Denethor were put face to face?
I might give him a hug. You know, kill him with kindess type of thing. Because honestly, he seemed like a sorry old twisted man. If I could, I'd try to be kind to him and melt away some of that hardened ice because I'm pretty sure violence wouldn't work.
10. Would you rather reside in Edoras or Minas Tirith?
The Shire. :P
11. What do you think of Eomer's armour?

12. What do you think of Boromir?
He seemed like a teenage girl with all his mood swings. I know he pulled through in the end, so good for him. But I still didn't geeet him. I wish I knew his background.
13. Which is your favourite LOTR couple: Sam & Rosie, Aragorn & Arwen, or Faramir & Eowyn?
Sam and Rosie. I think Sam deserved to have someone as loyal to him as he was to everyone else. I think he deserved love.
14. Did you shed any tears when Theoden died?
No, sorry. It was sad, but I don't usually cry at movies. That being said, I did cry at the last Lord of the Rings movie... I always do. Because of Frodo's last words, his departure from Sam, his journey that he'll never return from even though he is so young. The fact that no one can erase what he's seen or the pain that resides in him. The wounds that can't be healed. That always gets me because its symbolic to some people and real life. Some people leave this earth and everyone who loves them behind at a young age. Because some people have been through messed up things and I'm afraid their pain will never completely go away here on earth. Its those things that are real. And thats why it's sad. The characters who died, were just characters. Those events though, those words, they happen.
15. Which is the most terrifying of the following: orcs nabbing you in your sleep, giant spiders crawling out of tunnels and forests, Nazgul standing right over where you're hiding, or a ghost army that doesn't like you very much?

The Nazgul, oh my gawsh they are ever terrifying. At least the orcs are somewhat goofy and dumb. The Nazgul... creepy.
16. How would you enjoy life as a hobbit? Would it be preferable to being something like, say an elf? Or a Ranger?

A HOBBIT ALL THE WAY. I'll marry Frodo or Merry or Pippin!

Alas, the end has been reached.
Keep calm, fangirls, it's almost here.
Be ready,
Let's go on an Adventure.

  1. i can't hardly contain my excitement, i could go on and on and on about how much i love the stories, and how i feel like i know all the characters because i was only 7 when they came out and how i grew up with them ect. but i won't.
haha. i really enjoyed your answers! they were great. <3

  2. I've never been a huge fan. But believe me when I say I want to be! I feel like such a wannabe cause I've never read the books but I do like the movies more as time goes on. And I am excited for the Hobbit!

The Nazgul always freaked me out to the point of nightmares. Oh my gosh!

Oh yes, Tolkien wrote loads more. You should actually check and see if you can find the Father Christmas Letters by him. They're hilarious.

  4. This was a great post :) Loved all the questions.... and of course all your answers ;) I'm going to the midnight showing tonight and caaaaaaaaaaaan't WAIT!!!! xD

  5. We're going to go see it after Christmas! STOKED! XD
Ah, I was required to read all three books before I could see the movie...and I was 9...not really into reading reaaaaaaaaly thick books with lots of discription and songs that didn't have music to go with them. We have all 4 books though, and last time I went through them I actually got all the jokes and read all the songs. I was so proud of myself. =D
A library 5 min away? Sweet! Ours is a little farther but we still go every week.
    3. My thoughts exactly. =D
    4. Actually, I didn't know he existed until I read it the 2cnd time(and, heh heh, didn't skip stuff) and I loved him! He's totally awesome, and should've been in the movie. He's just cool.
    5. That is rather pretty!
    8. Prince Imarwho?!
    9. Ooh, you're brave. I think perhaps I'd draw him a birthday card with ducks on it. 'Cause ducks are fun to draw and sure to bring a smile.
    12. Haha! =D Yeah, he was kinda weird...but he redeemed himself by helping Merry and Pippin.
    13. Oh, I liked Eowen, admired her, though when I was 10 and saw the movie I wanted Galadriel to marry Legolas 'cause he was my favorite and SO cool. He had this neat bow, could sneak around, was always arguing with Gimli ...yeah, actually I wanted to marry him. =D
    15. YES! Nazgulls are the creeps!
    16. Elf. And just maybe an Ent, they were pretty cool too.
    2 picture = great!
Woopsy, kinda long, hope ya' don't mind. =) Na' you won't.
    Merry Christmas!!
