Smile

So I met this guy in my Composition class who smiles easily.
I think it's a neat talent if you can smile easily and genuinely.
What happened was the Teacher put people in random groups for this project thing.
And I got a silent group.
So it was sort of awkward because I kept trying to get them to work with me and they wouldn't give me any input.
Except the one guy.
And it was sorta funny just because I'd always ask for people's input and nobody would answer. Except that one guy.
We kinda laughed at the other people under our breath.
 And he smiled a lot.
That's pretty much the sum of my story, except I had to mention him because does anyone know how rare that is?
To be able to smile easily?
Especially with the people in my comp class.
The majority never smile and aren't very friendly.
In fact, there used to be a guy who sat in my row but then he upped and moved to the row behind me.
I guess I either smell bad or he didn't like me. haha.
And then there's a jock who comes in late always and he sits in my row but he sits all the way on the other end of it.
So, it's refreshing when you come across someone who actually talks and who smiles that genuine and easy type. The one who can pop one out at any time and make everyone feel comfortable or smile a long with.

I feel sorry for people who don't know how to love.
I mean at all.
I also feel sorry for people who don't know how to love in all kinds of love.
Like for instance, loving people without being in love with people.
You know?
I don't love that guy in my Comp class, or even like him or even know him.
But I love him because he smiles easily.
And I think if you can find reasons to love people, that makes life a little bit brighter.
Even if it's over simple things.
You can love someone for opening the door for you.
Or for ordering a latte.
You can love them for silly reasons.
Or you can love people for serious reasons.
Like for being nice and encourgaing.
For being there for you.
For being able to make others laugh.
Things like that.
But I think it really isn't as hard to love people as they say it is.
And I think we need to learn how to love without falling in love.
Because that's a beautiful thing.
Though falling in love is beautiful too when you don't fall in love just because you want to fall in love.

  2. Sophie you are funny!! I'm sure you don't stink! :D

And lovely post. It is indeed sad when people always expect to barter love. I can be one-way too and very much for every reason!!

  5. Yeah, that's cool. To love people for no reason but many reasons at once. For what they do and how they live and the way the affect you (effect? I can't get that one right no matter how much I love English and grammar...). Like the way I love the old lady I work with because of silly things she does without realizing... like when one of my supervisors complimented my earrings yesterday and the old lady thought she was talking to her and complimenting her kinda ugly earrings, and thanked her. It made me laugh inside but it was endearing. I like endearing people. No, I love endearing people.

Have a good day Soph! <3

  8. Oh I really, really, reaaaaaaly like this post!!
Because since January God has been teaching me to love like that, loving without falling in love! It has made a HUGE difference in my friendships! I just didn't know how to express it in words, but you did a great job Soph. =D
Whenever you say "haha" it just makes me laugh, I don't know why, but I just love reading it. =D
Loving people for silly reasons and serious...YES!
I love the "don't grow up" picture, as someone wise said,
"Growing old is mandatory, growing UP is optional." Words to live by....
