Summer, Summer, Summer

How I love thee.

Here's to spontaneous outings with friends, unexpected adventures, impossible things, and the summer sun!

Yesterday, a friend tried coffee and lost a competition, I went for a stroll in the park with two lovely friends, then crossed over to Heritage Village where we saw old cabins and history before our eyes which then led into Botanical Gardens that blew my mind and I got married in the wedding garden, and I drew my family tree, and the fish were prosperous and the Happy Hour Frapps at Starbucks were glorious and life is unfolding quite beautifully and this whole little summary might make little sense to you, but it does to me and that's all that matters. :)

I'm very appreciative of life and Summer. I thought it'd be long and boring and hot but it's not. Today, I went to see my school advisor and I'm excited for upcoming classes as well. I have one more mandatory requirement for my AA and then the other classes are electives that I get to pick. I might take a Theater class or a Photography class or an Art class or all of the above! I'm also going to take some classes I'll need for my English major but since I love English, I don't mind. So, naturally, I'm excited for this last year of finishing up my AA. And I'm excited for the year after that where I venture out and transfer and try new things and grow up but in an exciting and not sober way.

And the great thing about this, is that I have the Summer to enjoy and relax and have fun and to be excited for, but it's also nice knowing I'll have things to look forward to and be excited for in the Fall too.

The future is bright and by all means is it beautiful.

 

I don't know what it holds, but I do know who holds it and that means more to me than you'll ever know.

Horrid Eyesight

Lemme tell you something...

 

I.

Have.

Bad.

Eyesight.

 

I have to wear glasses or contacts in order to see. I only wear my glasses occasionally(for movies and tv and such) and I'm working on trying to get my contacts in so I can wear em regularly.

 

But I'm not at that point yet.

However, these past couple of days with the gentle wind blowing, the sun bright enough to shine and be appreciated, not disgusted, the air smooth enough to breathe in, and the sights breathtaking, I've been thinking a lot about it. I was in Downtown St.Pete these last couple of days, one for fun, the other for a Boston Marathon Memorial Run. Both times I were by the pier, one in the day right before the sun was setting where it gleamed on the water scintillating and sparkling with the sky was orange and yellow, the other into the night as the sun was going down and the clouds pink and purple and the sea a shocking turquoise color. It's crazy how that was the same place, just a day apart from each other and different times. I also watched as the pier changed from green, to purple, to pink, to red, to blue in the night and as all the city lights popped up out all of the sudden. And I thought a simple though;

 

Life is beautiful. It really is. Metaphorically, but really, literally. And I can see that, even with my horrid eyesight. I can see how beautiful the earth and God's creation is and sometimes I am just taken in aw by it. I can describe to you in words, and show you pictures of how it looked in that one moment, but it's not the same as existing and living and breathing and seeing the beauty all around you.

I hope we never get used to beautiful things, and that we don't take them for granted and that we'll always appreciate the beauty around us.

I hope we realize how honored we are to get to experience such beauty day by day.

And I hope we can find joy in the beauty and wonderful creation around us despite all the bad things that color the world black from time to time.

 

 

I think sometimes, we just need to slow it down.

Re-appreciate things.

Look at the World like we're seeing it for the first time.

And revel in it.

 

Even if you have horrid eyesight like me.

The Joruney to Find Macarons

 Hey, so I don't know if you guys know this or not...

but I've wanted to try a French macaron for the longest of times! Yesterday, I got to accomplish that dream.

 

Story time!!!!

I spent the day with my friend Nora and we spent the first half of the day making wands. After that, we went for a stroll in Downtown St.Pete with no destination in particular, just looking for an adventure. :) So we came across first Starbucks, in which I sipped down a wondrous and desperately needed Hazelnut Macchiato. After that we reached a bakery which had.....MACARONS. So, I stopped in and bought the colorful beautiful delicious creations and tried one and took photos and all that. It was a life changing moment. Then we journeyed on and stopped in cute shops, and walked around and looked for a place to eat. We ate at the burrito bowl which also was a success. Then we went to the pier in which we found numerous pelicans(all named Nigel) some mean, some nice and I really wanted to touch  one but instead I took pictures with em. It was a beautiful day and the sun was setting and it was amazing. Lastly, we kinda strolled around the park there, dancing from time to time, and then went home in where we watched a Very Potter Musical and had a nice evening. That was my yesterday.

Today, I went back to my old highschool and said hi to old students, and old teachers, and may have sipped some punch. It was pretty awesome. I also got my first ever and probably last ever yellow slip. A yellow slip is a conduct slip that you get for various reasons of breaking certain rules and misbehaving while you are attending the school. My friend Heidi and I never got one ever, even though practically the whole school did and it seemed like a let down last year graduating without getting one. I have gone there since middle school and I haaad misbehaved from time to time, but we never got yellow slips. So our goal of Senior year was to get one. We broke mild rules and everything, and finally come graduation time, we begged our principal for one just so we could have one. She said no, the teachers said no, and we never got yellow slips. Well, when we re-visited we decided to ask again and she finally said yes!!!!! So she gave us yellow slips for; "Refusing to leave the school after graduation." It was a great moment!

 

 

 

Anywho, so I've been busy. Sorry guys, it happens. Life is busy, Summer might be busy, but I'll be on when I can. I promise. It just probably won't be on a regular basis anymore.

Yes, some of these songs are sad. But the point is... they are undenyingly beautiful and calming. And I think undenyingly beautiful songs should always be appreciated even if undenyingly isn't even a word. And they are indubitably perfect for nights where inspiration strikes, and writing comes easily, and thinking is inevitable.

Gasp! A Saturday Post!?

Yes folks, I'm posting on a Saturday.

Not something I usually do, but since I skipped posting yesterday and I had time this morning. I thought I'd catch you up on what's been going on. I feel like a lot has happened.

1. Summer began.
2. I cleaned, really cleaned, my desk off and it looks shiny and new and beautiful. I'm really pleased.
3. I learned how to brew coffee, and make Frappuccino's. (Life important skills right there.)
4. I got a pedicure for the first time with my Mom.
5. I ate Breakfast at Panera with a friend.
6. I'm starting to learn the beauty of creating choreography.
7. I'm learning that contacts are a pain in the butt.
8. I still have yet to post my Summer list.
9. I went to the beach with my friend and it was the perfect day for it. After strolling, swimming, laying out, we also got Happy Hour Frapps from Starbucks.
10. Then we went to Treasure Island Fun Center and won THE BIG LOAD. The 400 ticket highest amount you can win from Deal or No Deal! The one nobody ever gets. And with it we each got a thing of shockers candy and twin inflatable pickles. Can't beat that!

That's about the sum of my weekend. Honestly, life isn't perfect, and it never will be. There are some downs in my life as well as ups, but I chose to focus on the ups and grow from the downs. There's going to be some people who hate you, and some who love you, but I'm not living for either one of those people. I'm living for God, and I'm trying to grow and learn what I can from life and people but I'm not going to change who I am to please people. That just doesn't work. That being said, I feel like a lot has been changing with me, but in good ways. I think I'm realizing and learning a lot and I think I'm growing closer to God and I think because of all that, I'm learning to be happier with life too and trying to make the most of it. So, I'm excited for Summer, I'm excited for where it takes me, and I'm excited for life. I'm happy to be alive and thankful. Really thankful.

So what this means is;

2. More time to blog and think and comment!
3. NO MORE EXAMS YAY.
4. I'll no longer be a freshman in any way, terms or means.
5. Sleeping In.
6. The Big Room Project(Cleaning, re-arranging, and painting!)
7. Time to do projects, like creating my Adventure Book.
8. Time to actually catch up with friends.
9. Time to photograph more and create more and go to the beach more.
10. Lot's of time now. Time, that I need to spend wisely. :)

Well, that sums it all up. Summer has arrived for me and I welcome the bright beautiful sunshine with warm open arms and embrace it full heartedly with a sense of hope and adventure that's wriggling within me and dying to get out and play and feel the grass between my barefeet and the freedom air surging through my lungs and to run down the hills of wonder and excitement.
