Stars, in Your Multitude

Stars, I love stars. Each star is full to the brim with magic, you know? If you touch one though, it'll turn into gold dust in your hand. It will lose its magic. That's most likely why they hide way up in the sky, so that others can't reach them and can't touch them. Especially kids. Because you know little kids like to touch pretty things. I don't blame them. Sometimes, stars will come up to your window at night though just to peek in on you and make sure you aren't having any trouble sleeping and to make sure that you aren't crying. They don't like tears. Sometimes they'll whisper things to you, though you can't hear them because you're asleep and because they're outside your window even if you were to awken, but sometimes they'll tell you stories. About princesses and pirates and cliche stuff like that. They always like an audience. Other times they just wish you luck on your day that you'll face when you awake and once they do their wishing they journey off to another part of the world where they can have a chance at lighting up the sky for someone else and making magic and whispering little things to them. They can never stay too long, like a lot of things. They have times and seasons. But the important part is they will always be back. That's the nice thing about stars. They don't forget you.

Sometimes the baby stars fall asleep. Those are called shooting stars. You see, it takes a lot of effort for a star to stay up there in the sky all night and not move until the sun rises and it's time to visit another place and another area where it's  nighttime and they can be seen and visible. They can only stay up there in the night sky if they manage to stay awake. All the adult stars are pros at this now. But the baby ones can't help it sometimes. They get tired and the grasshoppers always play them lulling music that practically forces their little eyes to close. And eventually they might drift off to sleep and once they're asleep they starting shooting across the sky, even though they don't mean to. But the wind just carries them across and they can't resist because they're asleep. They also shine brighter when they're asleep because they are filled with good and happy thoughts, some people call them dreams, and everyone knows that dreams will light up inside of stars. It's part of their magic.

Do you have a star? One that visits every night? One that you named? One that you love?

Every star out there deserves to be loved by someone.

Questions, Questions, Anybody?

Awhiiiile back, I was asked some questions because I was nominated for a blog award! :) Unfortunately, I didn't get around to answering them till now. Mah bad. However, I DID answer em. SO for the curious, and curiouser, here we go.

1.) What brand of computer are you using?

A laptop kind of computer. :P

2.) If you go outside, take the first star on your right and then go straight on 'til morning, where will you end up?

In Neverland, duh. Only if I ever go there, I'm not sure if I'd come back. Or at least I wouldn't come back for a loooong time. Because I like being a kid.

3.) How would you handle a pickpocket?

I honestly don't know. In those type of question situations, I don't think I'd ever know unless I came across that scenario.

4.) Do you like cowboys-- meaning cowboys from the Old West.

I liked their horses better, but I suppose cowboys are pretty neat too. Their accents are always fun.

5.) Do you know what the "big blue" looks like?

Blue, I suppose. But maybe pink?

6.) What's you're 'go to' style for your hair?

I normally don't do anything to my hair. If it looks atrocious, a pony tail it is.

7.) Have you ever wanted to be a voice for a character in an animated Disney movie?

YES. I STILL WANT TO. THAT'D BE A DREAM OF MINE COME TRUE. I always loved Jasmine, Meg and Wendy. I would have loved to voice them and I would love to voice a new animated character too. And I loved Mulan but I wouldn't want to voice her.

8.) What's the first thing you think when someone says, "Let's get down to business"?

TO DEFEAT THEM HONEY BUNS.

9.) What do you say when someone sneezes?

Bless you.

10.) What's your favorite smell?

Vanilla, Amber, Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Baked Cookies, Gingerbread, Coffee, and that's probably most of em.

11.) Why do you think girls find British boys more attractive than American boys?

It's all about the accents, the courtesies, and the fact that they're BRITISH. Mucho Jelly. hahah.

ROUND NUMBA DOS:

1) What is your typical Starbucks/Tim Hortons/any other coffee shop order?

Let's go with Dunkin Donuts. :) Small Toasted Almond Coffee w/ Cream and 1 sugar packet(because the sugar they put in themselves is toooo much)

2) What's the weather like where you are right now?

H-O-T

3) Who is your number one celebrity girl crush?

As in who do I like? I LOVE Maggie Smith as an actress(she's hilarious), and I like the girl who plays Mary in Downton Abbey. Also, Emma Watson is pretty awesome. But that's all I can think of off the top of my head, personally, it's much easier to name by several, long lsit of guy celebrity crushes.

4) Do you have any lucky items? If so what are they?

Nope, do you?

5) If you could marry a Disney prince/character who would it be and why?
Aladdin all the way. 1. He's very selfless. 2. He's protective. 3. He's hilarious. 4. I want him to show me the world on a magic carpet ride into the nighttime sky with fireworks and everything I MEAN WHO WOULDN'T. haha. 5. He seems very innocent, authentic, and sincere. 6. He's overall a nice guy. 7. It doesn't hurt that he's extremely cute as well.

6) If you could have either Anne Shirley's or Elizabeth Bennet's life, whose would you choose and why?

Elizabeth Bennet's. I love that time period, the dresses, the place, and Mr. Darcy.

7) If you were given a boat, what would you name it? Why?

"The Frosty." Because my dog deserves to have a boat named after him and because it sounds funny.

8) If you hosted a talk show, what would it be about?

Probably me ranting about my various loves for movies, musicals, books, and people. Also, me begging for certain actors/actresses to come on my talkshow just so I could meet them. I'd probably get 0 viewings, but that's ok.

9) What is the weirdest food you've eaten?

Peanut Butter hotdogs...that was pretty weird...

10) Is the glass half empty, or half full? What's in the glass?

Both. And the glass is filled with stars and fireflies. They get along well.

11) 2%, 1%, skim, or (gag!) whole milk?

2 %

Okay class, your turn! If you want to answer any of these questions, leave em in a comment. I'm curious to hear your answers!

What if your dreams all lived in multi-colored balloons?

And that whenever one of your dreams came true, the balloon that contained that dream floats away into the sky until maybe somebody else has the same dream and it goes to join the bunches of other balloon dreams of another person until that one comes true for that person too and it floats up until another person has the same dream and the endless circle continues.

I think it could happen.

In a world of Imagination and Wonder.

Some people have a hard time thinking about things that don't resemble reality, but I think it's healthy to take a break from reality and think lovely impossible thoughts every now and then.

That's an example of my dreams.
I have a lot of them.
I think thats important too.

Passion

So, the other day, I was sitting in the car and my little sister Maria goes;

"Sophie! Would you like to be a star?"
"Sure"... I replied.
"Good! Because I'm going to make you the main character in the story I'm writing. It's going to be about relying on God and you are going to be the example for it and I'm going to publish it someday and you are going to be famous. You'll be on the cover and everything."

Isn't amazing how ambitious little kids are?

They have so many dreams and they don't doubt for a second that it won't come true. My sister is convinced that her book will be published and read by many. After she told me all that and asked if I'd be okay with that and when I told her I'd be honored to be her main character, she started squealing with excitement. And I love that. I love the passion, the certainty that anything is possible.

I think sometimes society teaches us to be realistic and to ditch our dreams instead of pursue them.

I know not every dream is possible, and chances are unlikely for a 10 year old girl from Florida to become a famous author and publisher, but you know what? Who's to stop you from trying. Because you really, never know. Nothing is too far from impossible in my book.

That's why the future is exciting for me. I don't know what I'll do or what will happen and I may not ever be famous and I may be a nobody living in a quaint home in North Carolina with a Husband and two kids living a normal life and I'll be perfectly content because guess what? That's one of my dreams too. And I'm just throwing North Carolina out there. It could still be Florida. Or California. Or London. Or Missouri. Who knows. But a normal life, or an adventurous life will be fine by me. But I do think we should pursue our dreams and never give up on our passions.

If the opportune time comes, maybe I will look more into writing. Or maybe into photography. Or maybe acting.

And if all I end up doing is writing a small column in the newspaper, or taking my friend's wedding photos, or playing in a local theatre production, I'd be just as happy with that than if I become a best selling author, or a traveling photographer, or a big screen actress.

The point is, nothing is too far out of reach.
So dream big.
Take lessons from your younger self who believed anything was possible.

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."

The Edits, The Magic, The Memories

One last thing I want to touch on before I jump off the birthday and Disney train...

19.

I'm 19 now.

I think it's funny because when you're younger you are SO excited for birthdays because birthdays mean cake and presents and friends and celebration. I think you totally miss the whole idea that each time you have a birthday, the closer you get to growing up. That you are growing up in the process of eating cake and blowing out candles. I think it's sort of funny. I get that now. With each birthday and candle blown out, I feel myself growing out of the skin I'm in and learning.

But learning is good, and the future is good, and growing up can be good too.

But I think I'm always going to have a little kid inside of me, and I will indulge in childish things when I want to. Because I do believe in the art of make believe and imagination and fun.

I have to say, Disney, is like the essence of my childhood. Disney movies, Disney toys, Disney themed birthdays, Disney trips. I loved/love it all. Maybe that's why I'm so deeply impacted.

I have a few memories to share.

Let's see, first off, I WAS Jessie from Toy Story 2. I had a Jessie bathing suit and a Jessie birthday party and my Mom decorated a cake with Jessie on it just for me. I was a cowgirl, I loved horses, I was highspirited, I was her. I even bought Jessie at Disney World when I was a youngin and I still have her today. She started off my collection. I also got Woody, Bullseye, Buzz, and recently acquired Ham.

Secondly, I want to revisit those rainbow Disney lolipops that are way over priced and nasty but I had to have for the car ride home. I just remember that vividly because I wanted them so bad. And I ate it all, even though it was nasty.

Thirdly, let's go to the time where I went to Animal Kingdom and went on the Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ellen De Genres ride. I don't recall much of it, just that they had a prerecorded thing where Ellen says to the audience;" Hey you! I like your hair cut. " At that time I maybe have been 10 or so, and I had just gotten my haircut and I was convinced she was talking to me. It made my day.

Fourthly, speaking of hair cuts, I always got my hair cut at Ken's hair cutting place where there was this old guy named Ken and he had grey hair and he was very nice and all I talked about when I got my hair cut was Disney World.

Fifthly, I listened to a mix of disney songs to help fall asleep at night when I was younger.

Sixthly, I used to use an old laundry basket as a cart for Disney rides and make elaborate sets in different rooms of the house and tie a piece of rope to it and drag my little sisters along in it to the different rooms to experience the different rides. I used all my wild stuffed animals for Jungle Cruise, my dolls for It's a Small World, turned off all the lights and created a spaceship for Space Mountain, Got out the squirt water bottle for splash mountain and so much more. I was in to it man.

Seventhly, there was that one year that my Mom and Dad surprised us. It was the best surprise ever. They said we were going to this new resteraunt for Mother's Day. And it was a bit of a drive. At this time, there was only my older sister and I. And we brought cards to play on the car ride. We were playing and playing when I glanced at a road sign for Disney. I excitedly yelled out "We're GOING TO DISNEY WORLD." My sister Gracie said in a stern, older sister voice; " No, we're not Sophie. Mom said we were going to a resteraunt." So I was quiet for a bit, thinking hey she might be right but then we kept passing signs for it... and finally we reached the big landmark which is a huge pole with mickey ears and I belted it out again and Gracie was still amanent about us just going to a resteraunt and was thoroughly annoyed with my ridiculousness until we reached the enterance of Disney World and she found I was right. And that my Mom was right too. We were eating in a resteraunt in there called "Tony's Plaza" which was a Lady and the Tramp themed resteraunt which happens to be my Mom's favorite Disney movie. It was a great surprise, and it is one of our favorite stories to tell.
